Launched this autumn, Sony Ericsson's P990i should appeal to mobile professionals who need a feature-rich, versatile device. Costing £570 + VAT without a contract, the P990i weighs only 155g and runs the newest release of the Symbian OS, version 9.1.
This high-quality smartphone has a distinctive flip-lid that opens to reveal a thumbpad for typing email, SMS, and editing Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.

Sony Ericsson P990 Smartphone Review
P800 was the first in the row of Sony Ericsson’s smartphones using the UIQ interface over Symbian operating system and touch screen as main navigation method, combining the latest technologies into a high-end mobile phone with functionality comparable to those of Pocket PCs. The touch screen is the main difference of the UIQ system when compared to S60 (Nokia’s interface over Symbian) that is more similar to Windows Mobile Smartphones, which also don’t support touch displays.
Sony Ericsson’s P800 looked like a Pocket PC, but unfortunately was not able to compare with one, and although it had bulky size, the features were not that impressive, neither was the phone implementation with its awful keypad that was one of the many things to be changed in future models.

Sony Ericsson P990i recension
Sony Ericsson P990i är kompatibel med gsm och 3G. Displayen är en tft-skärm med 240x320 pixlars upplösning och hanterar upp till 262.144 färger. Den inbyggda kameran har 2,5x digital zoom och en upplösning på 2 megapixel.
Mobilen är försedd med bluetooth, gprs, ir, usb-stöd samt wlan 802.11b. Dessutom finns modem samt wap 2.0 xhtml. Dimensionerna är 114x57x25 mm och vikten 150 gram.
